Tottenham Hotspur continue to explore options in the January transfer window and have inquired about Fiorentina star Sofiane Amrabat.
According to the Daily Mail, Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur have inquired about Fiorentina midfielder Sofiane Amrabat as the January transfer window draws to a close.
The 25-year-old has been with Fiorentina since 2020 and enjoyed a promising first season with La Viola. However, he has struggled to get match time this season and has been limited to just 12 games in all competitions. Currently, in the Africa Cup of Nations with Morocco, he was a different beast from his home town and continues to perform in the midfield.
Amrabat started Morocco’s last 16 matches against Malawi and played the full 90 minutes, winning the match 2-1 to advance to the quarter-finals. The 25-year-old has once again shone in the midfield and shown a sure-fire performance for all those watching.
Recent losses to Chelsea have highlighted the shortcomings of Tottenham Hotspur. The midfield, in particular, needs strengthening if the club is eager to challenge for titles of honour. Tanguy Ndombele and Dele Alli fell for their agility, while Giovanni Lo Celso is reported to have scored a goal for Sevilla.

This leaves the Spears manager with only three options in the middle of the park – Pierre-Emile Hojberg, Harry Winks and Oliver Skipp. The trio have rather limited skills and cannot compete against the best teams on Earth.
Amrabat is a good passer of the ball and can distribute it around the court. More than that, he is also an accomplished dribbler and can propel the ball up the field with some success. If used correctly, he can turn into a stylish player at the heart of Tottenham’s midfield.
While the Moroccans’ numbers aren’t astounding, he has shown himself as a solid yet humble player who gets the job done with minimal fuss. Conte and Fabio Paratici are well versed in Italian football and can see something in Amrabat that no one else knows.
With the January transfer window drawing to a close, Tottenham now face a race against time to bring in players. Conte has been upfront about his request for reinforcements, and it remains to be seen if the club will support him as required.
