The Secretary of State confirmed to Sky News that Downing Street had not yet received a report of the closing of parties in Downing Street and across Whitehall.

Speaking to Kay Burley, Liz Truss said the government would publish “the findings” from the Cabinet Office investigation, which is led by senior government employee Sue Gray.

There were calls for No. 10 to release the entire document.

However, the foreign minister said there could be “security issues” which meant parts of them were “difficult to publish”.

“But we will absolutely publish the report’s findings,” she pledged.

Ms Truss also said Boris Johnson has her “100% support” as the prime minister faces calls, including from some Conservative MPs, to resign over revelations in the party.

The crisis engulfing the prime minister deepened on Tuesday when the Metropolitan Police announced it was investigating a “number of events” in Downing Street and across Whitehall for potential violations of COVID-19 regulations.

Expectations have been raised that Mr Johnson will address the findings of the Gray report in the House of Commons this lunchtime.

On Tuesday afternoon, it was understood that Number 10 would publish the report compiled at midday today and then the Prime Minister would make a statement in the House of Commons after PMQs.

But it is now believed that the document will not be released for publication until later in the afternoon at the earliest, with the odds increasing that this will be delayed until Thursday.

Uncertainty has been raised over its publication as Ms. Gray’s team has held discussions with the Met.
