Police caught illegal sex act in a Birmingham suburb, arresting 20 people in a park during one night.

West Midlands Police said sex work was a “key issue” in the Sparkhill area.

Officers issued crime prevention notices and warned 20 people in Sparkhill Park during a preemptive operation in the early hours of the morning.

Taking to Twitter, Springfield WMP posted: “#Sparkhill. The last few nights have called Ops in Sparkhill Park. Sex work is a major issue in the field.

“In the early hours of the morning more than 15 CPWs were issued and more than 20 people were warned. Support was also arranged for those who needed it. #STOP #PREVENTED.”

Police said earlier this month that the park had become a “new hotspot for sex workers”.

“In recent weeks, Sparkhill Park has been used for sexual activities by some local residents,” the force said.

“After being chased on foot and questioned by a few individuals, it appears to be a new hot spot for sex workers.”
