This morning: Alison Hammond replaces Philip Schofield

Alison Hammond will be on this morning in place of regular host Philip Schofield.

Last night, Silver Fox Philip, 59, confirmed he had tested positive for Covid and had been forced to self-isolate.

He posted the results of his lateral flow test on Instagram, writing, “Okay b******s.

“At the moment I have a slight sore throat,” the host added.

In light of Phillip’s bug, ITV confirmed to Mirror that Alison, 46, will bring her fun-loving character to the sofa of the magazine show while Phillip drives home.

It wasn’t revealed if Allison – who usually presents the series on Fridays with Dermot O’Leary – will be heading the show with Rochelle Humes – who has been standing with Holly Willoughby in recent weeks – or if Holly will. I’ll come back.

Holly is currently absent from This Morning – so she can perform Wim Hof’s Superstar Survival alongside comedian Lee Mack.

She was expected to return on Monday but she didn’t.

Philip’s positive Covid result comes after he was photographed with his family over the weekend.

The former West-End sensation made a brave appearance in 2020 admitting that after 27 years of marriage he realized he was gay but remained married to Stephanie Lowe.

Steve and Phil share two adult daughters Ruby and Molly and love to socialize as a group.

The family went out to celebrate Robbie’s 26th birthday over the weekend, dining at Circo Populaire before heading to Soho House before strolling around London’s West End before entering the Sondheim Theater to see Les Miserables.

Philip and Steve have remained close and are often spotted at high-profile events together since Phil’s exit.

He told The Mirror in October of last year that they had no plans to divorce.

He said, “We’re picking. It’s a work in progress.

“I’m still married to Steve. With the divorce…we didn’t discuss it at all.”

Philip wrote an autobiography where he was open to getting out and about with his family.

He criticized suggestions that he lied to Steve to marry her as he said, “I didn’t know I was gay when I married Steve. If I had married, I wouldn’t have married.”

He added, “When things get really dark, [Steph] It reminded me how much they all loved me and that there was nothing the four of us couldn’t stand up to.”
