The quake, with a magnitude of 3.2 and an epicenter around a mile east of San Leandro, rumbled beneath the ground at 4:01 pm, according to the US Geological Survey. BART tweeted that the quake was felt within its service area and that tracks were being expected. Trains were running slower, with a delay of about 10 minutes systemwide.

Though short in duration, both the East Bay and San Francisco reported feeling sharp jolts.

People took to Twitter to see if others in the Bay Area also felt the quake.
