Six flood alerts also in place urging people to be prepared
As well as five flood warnings, a number of less severe flood alerts have been issued.
These alerts urge people in affected areas to prepare, as flooding is possible.
The six affected areas are:
The lower River Irwell catchment area around low lying land and roads around the Rivers Irk and Medlock, Wince and Worsley Brooks
The upper River Irwell catchment areas including Oldham, Bolton, Rochdale, Haslingden, Ramsbottom and Rawtenstall
The middle River Mersey catchment including areas near Bramhall, Stockport, Sale, Altrincham and Urmston
The River Mersey Uplands catchment areas including Hyde, Ashton-under-Lyne, Denton, Stalybridge and Glossop
The River Glaze catchment area including Leigh and East Wigan
The River Bollin catchment areas including Knutsford, Wilmslow, Macclesfield and Bollington
