Imposing a no-fly zone over Ukraine would be counterproductive, the defense secretary said today as a former Nato commander warned it could lead to a Third World War.
Ben Wallace said a flight ban would also apply to Ukrainian forces, taking away “one of the few weapons” its defense forces had against the ground superiority of Russian opponents.
“There’s been a lot of no-fly zone suggestions, and no one seems to actually analyse what no-fly zone means and what it would mean for Ukrainian armed forces,” he told Times Radio.
