The Russian embassy in London has accused a pregnant woman who was apparently wounded in a deadly bombing on a Ukrainian hospital of faking her injuries.
A child was among three people killed as a Russian jet dropped a large bomb on the maternity and children’s ward of a hospital in the besieged Ukrainian port of Mariupol yesterday, which drew international condemnation.
Pictures were published around the world of female patients fleeing the hospital, with some being carried on stretchers. One of the victims was named online as Marianna Podgurskaya, who has since been subjected to a torrent of hateful messages.
The Russian embassy’s Twitter posts have been removed by the social media site
