And that’s half-time… goalless at the break.

First 45 minutes ends with Mane put in behind by Alexander-Arnold, but he can only send the shot over the bar on the stretch.

Even opening period, Arsenal probably just edging it. Really impressive from the Gunners.

43 mins: Home fans on their feet as Martinelli battles with three Liverpool players for the ball… combination of wonderful footwork and sheer desperation to keep it sees him somehow come out on top.

42 mins: Liverpool’s best spell for a while as they pass the ball around easily. Jota nearly gets on the end of a cross, just can’t get up enough.

Alexander-Arnold plays a brilliant ball into the box, Cedric can only put it behind for a corner. Good defending.

It will be Alexander-Arnold to take it… Gabriel up to head it away.

39 mins: Good footwork from Xhaka and he then gives it to Partey in space. Never shy to shoot from range… block comes in almost immediately.

Liverpool nearly break very dangerously as Diaz flicks it away from Gabriel, but the Gunners get back well to slow him down.

37 mins: Martinelli is absolutely electric every time he gets the ball. Superb touch to bring the ball under his control and he’s then running straight at Alexander-Arnold.

Past him no trouble, works it back to Xhaka who looks to find Saka… again too much on the pass and out of play.

Jurgen Klopp has just blown his top at the fourth official. Mane went down under a challenge from Cedric and Liverpool didn’t get a free-kick. Klopp was livid and vented his frustrations to the officials.

35 mins: Saka and Martinelli constantly making runs in behind… real threat for the Gunners.

Mane goes down as Cedric barges into him, but nothing given. Klopp absolutely furious, still going on about it to the fourth official.

33 mins: It’s brilliant hold-up play from Lacazette, he’s being dragged back by Matip but still rolls him and plays it through to Odegaard. Attack breaks down a bit and Arsenal have to come backwards.

Xhaka whips a ball towards the far post, dangerous area but too much on it.

32 mins: Gunners are caught on the ball and Jota threatens to break on them.

Pokes it inside the defender but Cedric slides in and hooks the ball out of play. Arsenal continue to be without Tomiyasu but Cedric has been doing a more than decent job over the last few weeks.

30 mins: Martinelli makes the run in behind Alexander-Arnold, the full-back doesn’t track it and Tierney sets the Brazilian away.

It’s another Brazilian who gets there first though – Alisson once again swiftly off his line to clear the danger.
