Portugal enjoyed 62% of possession in that first-half. They also had eight shots, with four of those on target.

Six shots and three on target for Turkey – only one of those caused Costa any sort of problems. They’ve got it all to do after the break.

That’s a great 45 minutes from Portugal in front of their home fans.

Dominated from the very first minute and they have their reward. Otavio put them in front, Jota then doubled the lead with a great header.

As it stands, it’s Portugal going through to the World Cup play-off final.

45 mins: Two minutes added on.

Portugal will be very happy to just see this half out now.

44 mins: Akturoglu with a chance to match Jota and score a header of his own.

No real power on the effort though and it’s straight at Costa. Not a good combination.

PORTUGAL DOUBLE THE LEAD!

They’re in complete control now.

Guerreiro’s initial cross was cleared away, but Portugal kept the pressure on. Otavio stands up a wonderful ball to the back post, Jota gets incredible power on the header and beats Cakir at the near post.

40 mins: Bernardo Silva has space to pick the pass, looks to slide the ball through to Fernandes… nowhere near enough on it.

Man City immediate holds his hands up, he knows was a decent chance.

37 mins: Turkey free-kick, cleverly taken to Under and he whips a wonderful ball into the six-yard box.

Great defending to hook that away from danger and now Portugal can break.

Fernandes has Jota making the run in the middle, ball is behind him though and Kabak is there to intercept.

35 mins: Celik has the honor of receiving the first yellow card of the match.

He’s joined seconds later in the book by Jota. Celik fouled the Liverpool man and the two then had a bit of a shoving match. All pretty pointless and they each earn themselves a booking.
