Covishield Booster Dose
CEO Adar Poonawalla of the Serum Institute of India revealed that the price of the Covishield prophylactic dosage at private hospitals has been reduced by more than half a day before booster doses become accessible to all Indian adults.
The price of a single medication has been reduced from Rs 600 to Rs 225. Following negotiations with the Centre, the decision was made. Poonawalla also applauded the government for making a third dosage option available to the full adult population, which was previously only available to individuals over 60 and frontline and healthcare professionals.
Over 2.4 crore prophylactic doses have already been delivered to healthcare and frontline workers, as well as individuals over the age of 60, in India.
Poonawalla applauded the Center’s decision to open up booster doses on Friday, calling it a critical and timely measure.
He claimed that those who wanted to travel overseas but didn’t have a third dosage were having trouble since numerous nations have put limitations on foreign travelers who didn’t have a booster dose.
Poonawala was alluding to several European Union countries that required overseas travelers to take Covid-19 booster dosages.
Imran Khan Calls For Countrywide Protests In Pakistan On April 10
Prime Minister Imran Khan has called for widespread rallies for avoiding voting on a critical no-confidence resolution against his administration. Imran Khan asked Pakistanis to come to the streets after the Sunday evening prayer and protest ‘peacefully’ in a televised address on Friday.
Imran Khan asked young people to come to the streets in his speech, urging them to do so following his statewide rally in 2018.
“All of you will have to come out on Sunday evening after prayer to protest, to peacefully protest. I again say that should never indulge in violence. It should be a peaceful protest,” said Imran Khan.
Russia Ukraine Conflict
Calling the strike in Kramatorsk in the eastern region of Donetsk a deliberate attack on civilians, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called for a firm global response to this war crime by Russia.
“We expect a firm global response to this war crime,” Reuters quoted Zelensky as saying in a video posted late on Friday.
Calling for an energy embargo, the Ukrainian President said all Russian banks must be cut off from the global system.
“Any delay in providing… weapons to Ukraine, any refusals, can only mean the politicians in question want to help the Russian leadership more than us,” he said.
