Prince Harry reportedly said “really nasty things” about Camilla, the Queen Consort, according to a royal author.
Royal biographer Angela Levin suggested the Duke of Sussex was one of many who has misrepresented Camilla in the early days.
She said: “One was The Crown which was really cruel to her and the other was Prince Harry who had said some really nasty things about her too.”
Appearing on Friday’s episode of ITV’s Lorraine with stand-in host Christine Lampard after the release of her biography ‘Camilla, From Outcast to Future Queen Consort’, the author suggested: “a lot of people disliked, mainly Camilla because they loved Diana so much “.
Ms Levin said: “It obviously hasn’t always been plain sailing, a lot of people disliked, mainly Camilla because they loved Diana so much. It was always going to be a difficult time.”
But if there was any discontent between the pair, it has clearly been put behind them.
Royal expert Neil Sean noted that while Harry and Camila are “distant” and have been since his wedding with Meghan Markle, they “were very close and enjoyed a fun, informal friendship in which he confided in her”.
