Made.com has temporarily stopped taking new customer orders in an effort to preserve value for its creditors after rescue talks to find a potential buyer collapsed.
Bosses said that the decision, which will see the online furniture retailer potentially miss out on the key Christmas trade, will “remain under review and a further announcement will be made as appropriate.”
The company’s website has been replaced with a single page, with the words “Sit tight, we’ll be back soon” beneath a photograph of grayhound on a dog bed.
Shares in Made.com slumped by 93 per cent to ½p after it revealed it has been unable yesterday to find a buyer, raising questions about its future, including the prospect of its shares being suspended.
