Christian Eriksen credits a new-found confidence for an upturn in Manchester United’s form and believes the club is on the brink of taking even greater strides.

United face FC Sheriff in the Europa League tonight needing a point to qualify for the next stage although manager Erik ten Hag is keen to win the group and, thus, avoid an extra round of the competition in the new year.

And, fresh from United’s six-game unbeaten streak that included an impressive win over Tottenham and draw at Chelsea, the Danish international believes there is yet more to come from his improving squad.

“I do and I have the feeling the players feel it and the fans do, I even think you guys believe it a bit,” said Eriksen.

“I think you can see the development in the games of how we play, there’s a bit of a rising. I think we’re starting to believe it.

“Obviously there’s a lot of things that we need to do better, things we can change but I think overall we’re on the right path.”
