Fifteen children have died of Strep A infection as cases continue to rise across the UK.
New weekly figures show that 13 children under the age of 15 have died in England since September, with two more deaths of children recorded in Wales and Northern Ireland.
The UK’s Health Security Agency sounded the alarm about the infection last week, when it was confirmed that six young children had died. Today they said 60 deaths had been reported across all age groups in England, 23 of them in people aged 75 and over.
