France set up the World Heavyweight Cup final against Argentina after an early goal from Theo Hernandez and a late goal from Randall Kolo Mwani ended Morocco’s fight dreams with an action-packed 2-0 victory in the semi-finals.
Hernandez stretched high after five minutes to score the first goal Morocco lost to an opposition player in the tournament after scrambling in the penalty area, but the hosts offered only occasional glimpses of their class.
Morocco, hampered by early injuries to two key defenders, recovered without causing the end of trouble, with Hugo Lloris brilliantly saving an overhead kick from Jaouad El Yamak at the end of the first half and the outsiders scrambling forward for much of a second. France, however, sealed the score in the 79th minute when Kylian Mbappe volleyed in a superb dribble from Kolo Mwani to score the decisive goal with his first touch less than a minute after coming on.

Griezmann was named man of the match, the obvious call if FIFA were to pick from the winning team.

The result makes it look comfortable for France, but it wasn’t. Great performance from Morocco who couldn’t score a goal while at the top.
Amrabat and Unahi are perfect for it and it looks like they are destined for big moves.

Ruthless from Les Blues again, they didn’t play particularly well for most of the match.

Shots fly from Morocco, and somehow they didn’t score! Stunning run to the byline, clipping and then Kounde somehow keeping it out on his own line. crazy.

86 min: Ziyech turns and turns, Thuram does a really good job and sees it from the goal kick.
Moroccan fans still make a lot of noise, but it’s definitely more muted now. They will continue to participate in numbers in the third-place match on Saturday.

83 min: This seems to have finished off Morocco, such a blow.
Although it was impressive here, there wasn’t a huge amount of obvious opportunity. They need at least two of them now.
