Doctor Who’s outfit is revealed to Nkoti Gatoa

The Doctor Who costume for the 14th season of the sci-fi series Ncuti Gatwa has been revealed – and it heralds a new era for the Time Lord.

Two initial images were revealed, showing Doctor Gatua wearing a brown and black checkered suit with an orange jumper underneath, brown shoes and a necklace.

In one of the photos, he is also joined by new companion Ruby Sunday, played by Millie Gibson, who was dressed in a denim jacket and blue shorts.

Gatwa was first seen in a trailer at the end of Jodi Whittaker’s final episode, Power of the Doctor. Wearing a loose-fitting T-shirt and gray scarf, he already looked very different from Whitaker, whose gray wool coat and colorful stripes were a departure from Peter Capaldi’s monochromatic look.

A sex education representative previously told RadioTimes.com that he had a say in what his doctor would wear, noting that it would be an “exciting” change of style for a Time Lord.

Before we get to see Gatwa don the elegant outfit on screen, we have the special 60th anniversary screenings to look forward to. David Tennant’s Ten is back, though it has been rebranded as Fourteen. However, he still wears the classic blue trench coat and coach set.

The Power of the Doctor also revealed Donna Noble’s (Catherine Tate) outfit, which looks as practical as ever.

The era of the Fifteenth Doctor is already shaping up to be markedly different from what we’ve seen of the show over the past few years, with Russell T Davies confirming earlier this month that the series’ annual Christmas specials will return, after a break in tradition in recent years.

Doctor Who is available to stream on BBC iPlayer with episodes from the classic series also available on BritBox – you can sign up for a free 7 day trial here.
