Final Fantasy 7 Remake is now “fully playable” with the motion-controlled Buster Sword.

The console was created by Super Louis 64, who previously made videos showing himself playing the Elden Ring using a banana as a controller, or using a slice of pizza as a controller in Final Fantasy 14.

As shown in the clip posted to Twitter, the Buster Sword can be used to block, attack, and move, all with gesture control. Lewis claims that the mod works on both PC and PS5.

In the clip, Lewis himself is shown playing in an area early in the game. It’s not clear if the sword comes with the buttons needed to give instructions to other members of your party, but this will likely be revealed in a longer video that Lewis plans to post next week.

The sword, which appears to be about 5 feet high, accurately represents the main weapon of Cloud Strife, the famous protagonist of Final Fantasy 7.

The next installment in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy will be titled Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.

As confirmed during Final Fantasy 7’s 25th anniversary earlier this year, Part 2 is set to release on PlayStation 5 this coming winter.

According to a statement attributed to Final Fantasy VII Rebirth creative director Tetsuya Nomura, the sequel is being designed so that people can enjoy it “whether they know the original game or not”.
