The new series of the Duke and Duchess, Harry & Meghan, was watched by millions of people around the world. The first episode was seen by 2.4 million people, but the number dropped to only 800,000 by the third episode.
The documentary, which explores the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s relationship, as well as their decision to give up their royal duties and move to California, was watched by 2.4 million people in the first 24 hours.
The Broadcaster Audience Research Board (BARB) has confirmed the viewing figures for the first installment of the couple’s explosive series.
When first broadcast, viewing figures were 1.5 million for the second episode, a decrease of nearly 1 million viewers from the first episode.
The third episode got around 800,000 viewers, down 1.6 million from the first episode.
The numbers from BARB only look at TV data, so these numbers are likely to be an underestimate when looking at cell phones and tablets.
But despite the significant drop in viewership, the first three episodes, released on December 8, garnered 81.55 million views in the first week alone.
The latest figures also show that The Royal Couple is the second most watched show on Netflix in the US, and number one in the UK.
Despite ranking first and having high viewing figures, Harry and Meghan was not well received by critics and audiences.

The ratings are comparable to the royal drama, The Crown, which has a score of 65, but has a slightly higher score of 7.8 from users.
A spokesperson for VPNOverview said: “Harry & Meghan has drawn in an amazing number of viewers from all over the world. The documentary is now in the top 10 in 85 countries, with it being number one in the UK.
“It will be interesting to see if The Crown’s longevity can top the charts.”
According to Netflix, The Crown has had 73 million accounts worldwide since 2016 when it was first released, with the third season bringing in 21 million viewers in its first month.
Harry and Meghan documentaries top these numbers with 81.55 million viewers during the first week alone.
Currently, both shows are in the top five on Netflix in the UK, with The Crown staying in the top ten for four weeks in both the UK and US.
