Our roundup of the best Game Pass add-ons for each month of 2022 is halfway there today as we hit June, which saw a solid batch of newcomers to the service, including some absolute classics… a pair of classic trios, a big third-party AAA title , some low-key gems, a pizza laden with 16-bit nostalgia… yeah, it’s fair to say Game Pass wasn’t messing around in June. Along with some other niche pieces like the oddly popular House Flipper and melee battle royale title Naraka Bladepoint, some great companies joined the top games on Game Pass in June – here are our highlights. Assassin’s Creed Origins drops into the Game Pass library on June 7th as another great example of Game Pass delivering some big hitters. Origins was also given a performance-boosting update a few days back, which makes its entry into Game Pass just in time. Origins was, appropriately enough, the beginning of a new genre of Assassin’s Creed game that we’ve since seen expand in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Origins saw us heading to Egypt as Baek Siwa, who, along with his wife Aya, fights to defend the people of Egypt and sets out on a mission to destroy the Ancients. True to its name, Origins had us explore the beginnings of the Assassin’s Brotherhood as well. Getting Game Pass around has been great, and with the base game estimated to be completed in about 60-80 hours, it delivered a massive amount of content – all in all, definitely one of the highlights of Game Pass this month!
Assassin’s Creed® Origins
ASSASSIN’S CREED® ORIGINALS IS A NEW BEGINNING
Ancient Egypt, a land of majesty and intrigue, is disappearing in a ruthless struggle for power. Unveil dark secrets and forgotten legends as you go back to the very first foundational moment: the origins of the Assassin’s Brotherhood.
ChorusSpace fighting games are often just too overwhelming – give a controller to someone who’s never played Elite Dangerous and see how they step up a bit to see it first hand, it’s a lot of fun – or morph into going through the motions with team fights that seem to all play out the same. The Chorus looks to get away from these common issues and make everything feel pleasant and satisfying, helping you feel like a professional pilot and pull off some seriously awesome stunts and takedowns without having to master a million different buttons and systems first. This results in stunning, fast-paced ship combat as you boost, drift and swarm around enemies to quickly gain the upper hand, and it’s quite the power ride. Furthermore, chorus accomplishments are largely manageable, with an on-site estimate of around 20-25 hours to complete.

Ninja Gaiden Master Collection If you want to talk about achievements that are pretty unmanageable, however, boy, have you come to the right place. Team Ninja’s hardcore action trilogy is among the toughest and longest-running Game Pass games, with each of the three games offering a challenge so brutal you’ll have to be an actual ninja to overcome it. There are still some great games, of course – especially the original – but even just getting past them is no joke, let alone ramping up the difficulty and putting yourself through all the grueling challenge content in each one, so you definitely need to know what you’re getting yourself into. Thankfully, despite being a trilogy, it’s still just three separate lists, meaning completers won’t find themselves trapped in three agonizing grinds once one of these classics kicks off. There are plenty of flashy games to check out at Game Pass, but Omori is so far on the other end of the spectrum that needs to come with trigger warnings. The game tackles topics like suicide, depression, and anxiety – and incredibly well, it has to be said – so we don’t recommend getting started unless you’re in a good mental state like a lot of the topics are. so heavy. To that end, what’s great about Omori is that it’s able to explore such topics very well while simultaneously building a fairly typical, even whimsical RPG framework around them without overwhelming its message. It’s a solid game if you can handle the difficulties it presents during its surprisingly long run, but it’s probably best left there for the time being – aomori is something you really need to experience rather than witness or explain, and the less you know about going in, the more impactful it will be. upon you. Just make sure you are ready for this before starting the game.

Description of Mature Content The developers describe the content like this: This game contains depictions of depression, anxiety, and suicidality, and may not be suitable for all audiences. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge We’re now back in the lighthearted fun part of Game Pass Town again, with Tribute Games’ spiritual successor to the classic 16-bit Turtles hit from back in the day. The team has really done its best at nailing the early ’90s vibe, from the new animated intro to the upbeat rock anthems that blast through some stages, and with new six-player co-op allowing for more chaotic action than ever before. It’s tight and fun, even if it’s a bit deeper than the simple arcade game it emulates – you won’t find the combo fighting game level capabilities of something like Streets of Rage 4 here, but you will find great retro fun that anyone can pick up and play. Shredder’s Revenge looks like one of the year’s most popular Game Pass additions overall, too, only today earning itself a spot in the quarterfinals of the current Game of the Year voting category. Not bad for some mutant turtles living in sewers…
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge reunites Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Raphael as they kick the shell in gritty, beautifully realized side-scrolling action inspired by the legendary 1987 Turtles and paying homage to classic TMNT games like Turtles In Time.
The Shadowrun Trilogy, the second in a trilogy of June big game tickets, saw the legendary RPG Shadowrun series drop three retooled classics at once, introducing all-new audiences to the unique flavor of the Shadowrun-meets-online universe. Returns are the weakest of the three, feeling more pared down than the others, although they are quite loosely linked, so you don’t have to do all three and can just pick and choose as you see fit. They’re unapologetically old school in their design, but they do channel a bit of retro role-playing charm at the table if that’s something you’re into. This trilogy likely wouldn’t find much love outside of existing fans had it not been for Game Pass kicking the doors wide, and these games make for another great series (okay, three) in the Game Pass arc.
