anta Claus started his journey delivering gifts around the world – and you can track the journey on Christmas Eve with NORAD Santa Tracker.
NORAD, North American Aerospace Defense Command, is tracking Father Christmas’s flight around the world and estimating his location on a GPS map.
Here’s how you can follow Santa’s journey:
About nine million people visit the NORAD website to watch Santa Claus’ ride. It’s the most popular way to find out his whereabouts as he travels the world with his trusty reindeer team: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner and Blitzen.
And the site has plenty to keep eager kids entertained until their journey begins.

While the US-based organization usually monitors airspace in the event of a nuclear attack, since 1958 it has also had the Christmas tradition of tracking down Santa.
Their tracking can be accessed here.
However, Google also has its own Santa tracker, which also has games for kids, which can be accessed here.
What road does Father Christmas take?
Santa’s preparations for his journey from the North Pole began around 9 am BST. “Current conditions in the Arctic point to good weather for flying,” the NORAD website revealed. He hasn’t left yet.
To deliver all of his gifts, he has to visit 390,000 homes per minute – or 6,424 per second.
He started in the South Pacific, with his first stop to the Republic of Kiribati, before heading to New Zealand and then Australia.
The UK will be at the bottom of the list in Western Europe, having gone into Asia and Africa.
After delivering the Good Boys and Girls in Great Britain, it will fly to Canada, the USA, Central and South America.
However, NORAD points out that only Santa knows his way, which means he can’t predict where and when he’ll get to certain homes.
