Earthquakes Canada confirmed what some people in the Charlevoix area felt early Sunday: An earthquake has indeed occurred.
The federal agency reported that a 3.1-magnitude earthquake occurred at 4:51 a.m., about ten kilometers southeast of Bay St. Paul.

According to the agency’s summary, the quake was “lightly felt” in the area.
There were no reports of damage and Earthquakes Canada said no damage was expected.
