EastEnders spoilers – Kelly Bright reveals Linda’s future

EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders star Kelly Bright has spoken about what’s in store for her character Lynda Carter following Mick’s tragic exit tonight (25 December).

Danny Dyer’s final scenes aired on the much-anticipated Christmas Day episode, in which Mick appears to drown while trying to rescue Linda from the water.

Linda’s life is left hanging in the balance when the car Janine was driving plunges off a cliff edge into the sea.

Fans knew Danny was bowing out after nine years as Mick, but details of his exit were kept under wraps until casting.

Speaking to Digital Spy and other media at a recent Christmas press event, Kelly said, “Let’s just say Linda hasn’t gotten over this anytime soon. She won’t, right? He’s the love of her life.”

“I’m only until February but we just did a Valentine’s Day shoot and there’s a little picture of Make-Up behind the bar wishing him a Happy Valentine’s Day and he kisses. He’s still very present to her in that way.”

“I know a little bit about what’s in store for Linda but I can’t tell anyone! I just caught myself and I’m excited about what’s really good.”

Kelly continued, “There was definitely a moment after Danny left when I was like, ‘Oh my God, it’s so weird out here right now. ‘ It’s so weird being almost half of something. It’s that feeling.”

“Linda is a tough cookie. I’ve always said she’s a Barbie with a core of iron, a core of steel. She’ll definitely find her way through this and she’s also a mom to Ollie and Annie and I think that will drive her forward.”

“I’m so excited about what’s going to happen next. I know I’m part of something that’s going to be so big and I’m excited about that.”

As for a future romance for Linda, Kellie isn’t sure.

“I wish no one was there, a while ago. I’ve said it but I don’t know if we’ll be heard.”

EastEnders broadcasts Mondays to Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show is also streaming on BBC iPlayer.
