The National Center of Seismology of the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (CNS) recorded an earthquake measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale early Tuesday morning. The earthquake occurred precisely at 4:58 am. The epicenter was located 13.1 km north of Moka in the province of Espilat.
The depth of the telluric action was about 20.1 kilometers and the CNS says it is not a threat to the country because this type of event happens frequently on our island. The central nervous system also confirmed that these phenomena occur because the Earth periodically releases energy and manifests it in this way.
At this time, no damage has been reported, and everything seems to be under control.
