Four men have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a 22-year-old woman died at the scene of a car crash on Christmas Day.
Two men, aged 29 and another aged 21, were arrested the day after the Hendon Way, Edgware, North London plane crash that killed Maria Carolina do Nascimento Miguel.
The fatal collision occurred after officers on patrol signaled a car would stop at around 3.45am and drove off without pursuit.
Shortly thereafter, the police were informed that the same vehicle had collided with another.
The individuals in the police car that did not stop fled the scene on foot.
Two days later, a 32-year-old man became the fourth person to be arrested on the same charges on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a crash.
Despite the best efforts of the London Ambulance Service, Miguel died at the scene.
The driver, who was in the same car, suffered a head injury, but the Metropolitan Police said his condition was not serious.
The four suspects have been released on bail pending further investigations.
Any road user or anyone with any camera footage of the event is urged to contact the police.
