Sunderland can confirm that Ellis Sims has been recalled by Everton.
The 21-year-old returns to Goodison Park with immediate effect after a successful five-month loan spell at Al Noor Stadium, during which the striker scored seven goals in 17 appearances.
Sporting director Christian Speakmann said: “Ellis’ return to Merseyside is a real disappointment to us because of the joint progress he and the club have made this season. Unfortunately, that’s the nature of loans when successful, but it’s a testament to Tony and the wider staff – and of course Ellis – that Everton feel he “Ready to continue his immediate development in the Premier League environment. We all wish Ellis the best of luck and thank him for the part he has played in our continued progression as a football club.”
