Just 12 minutes ago, a magnitude 3.9 earthquake occurred near Nijar, Almeria, Andalusia, Spain. The earthquake was recorded on the morning of Saturday, December 31, 2022, at 8:05 am local time, at a very shallow depth of 5 km below the surface. The event was submitted by Spain’s Instituto Geográfico Nacional (IGN), the first seismological agency to report about her. A second report was later issued by the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (Instituto Português do Mar e da Atmosfera, IPMA), which listed it as a magnitude 3.9 earthquake as well.
