Kohberger has been charged with the burglary and murder of Zana Kernodel, 20, Ethan Chapin, 20, Kylie Goncalves, 21, and Madison Maugen, 21, whose bodies were discovered on November 12.

He is being held without bail in Pennsylvania pending a hearing on January 3 at which police in Idaho will request his extradition.

Kohberger’s attorney, Jason LaBar, said he would deny the charges against him.

“Mr. Kohberger is anxious to be cleared of these charges and looks forward to resolving these matters as quickly as possible,” LaBar, Monroe County’s chief public defender, told CNN.

He added that Kohberger would not oppose his extradition to the state of Idaho.
