5.4 earthquake shakes California coast on New Year’s Day
RIO DEL, CA – A home surveillance camera captured the violent shaking of the recent Northern California earthquake.
The earthquake struck on New Year’s Day at 10:35 a.m. 9.3 miles southeast of Rio Del, according to the US Geological Survey.
The residents of the region were already on alert after the 6.4-magnitude earthquake a few weeks ago. Two people were killed and 12 injured in that quake.
Despite the discomfort from Sunday’s 5.4-magnitude shake, there were no reports of any damage or injuries.
