Transport for London has revealed a bus strike on Wednesday and Thursday for its Aplio bus services.
There will still be buses available on the affected routes in south and west London, but not in the usual numbers.
Meanwhile, RMT General Secretary Mick Lynch said the industrial strike should continue beyond May unless a reasonable offer is made to the RMT.
Speaking from a picket line outside London’s Euston station, the union leader told the PA news agency: “We would like to get into a situation where we negotiate constantly with companies and where we haven’t had a strike, and then work out a settlement that our members can vote on and accept.”
“But if we don’t get there, we’ll have to take more action, we have a mandate that runs until May of this year, and if we have to move forward, that’s what we’ll need to do. But we don’t want to.”
It comes as four out of five trains were canceled today as commuters face Britain’s worst week of rail disruption in 30 years.

Who is hitting this winter and why?
Workers in many of Britain’s key service sectors are basking in a new so-called ‘winter of discontent’ as cost-of-living pressures collide with offers of below-inflationary wages.
Many strikes, such as that of the Railways, Maritime and Transport (RMT) union, have been going on for months, with warnings that union members will vote to move their fight far into 2023.
The Office for National Statistics (ONS) said 417,000 working days were lost to strikes in October, the highest monthly total since November 2011 saw mass public sector strikes over pension reforms.

1672775512 What do national highway strikes mean to drivers?
National Highways workers from the Public and Commercial Services (PCS) union, Britain’s largest civil service union, are the latest to strike in December, with staff based in London and south-east England hitting picket lines on Thursday.
The demonstrations will be held on a rolling regional basis through Jan. 7, and could eventually see as many as 125 road traffic officers and operating center activists drop tools among the 1,500 frontline employees — representing 8 percent, according to Highways. Patriotism – which moved to reassure the public that it had “robust and well-considered procedures” in place to deal with any problems that might arise.
With staff at depots at Godston and Winchester out, the M25 is expected to be affected on Thursday, as is the M20 heading towards Folkestone.

All UK hit dates confirmed for January 2023
Britain’s “winter of discontent” appears to be upon us in the new year after a month of bitter strikes in December that brought the country to a halt and Christmas view in jeopardy for many.
Nurses, railway staff, postal workers, G4S staff, London bus drivers, Eurostar security staff, Border Force agents, baggage handlers at Heathrow, Scottish teachers, driving examiners and National Highways workers have all walked out in recent weeks as disagreements between employers and unions over pay and working conditions falter at a time that still falters. The UK is mired in an economic crisis.
Moreover, few of these disputes were resolved, leading many unions to threaten further industry strikes in January.

1672769371 Strikes may exacerbate inflation
Chris Hammer, director of insights at the British Retail Consortium, warned that continued rail strikes could lead to an increase in inflation.
Train staff strikes meant fewer people were on the high streets before the Christmas period.
Speaking to the BBC, Hammer said: “We saw before Christmas that sales were relatively weak. And when the strikes came into force there was a shift in spending from shops to the internet.
“Running stores is expensive. Having commercial prices to pay, those costs have to be covered and the effect of reducing demand levels because people can’t get into stores is actually hypertrophy.
“This is the last thing we need.”

Tory minister Mick Lynch is accused of lying about moving to ‘torpedo’ railway strike talks
The head of the rail union, Mick Lynch, has accused transport minister Mark Harper of “not telling the truth” about negotiations aimed at ending train strikes, as five days of new industrial action begin.
A Conservative cabinet minister has dismissed claims by the Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) union leader that the government had blocked a deal before Christmas – which he insisted was “absolutely untrue”.
But Lynch said the Harper administration intervened by introducing “eight or nine” terms – including trains for drivers only – to thwart a settlement over wages and terms.
