An earthquake was felt in Delhi and adjoining areas on Thursday. A 5.8-magnitude earthquake hit the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan, the new Reuters news agency reported, citing the German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ).

GFZ said the quake occurred at a depth of 189 km.

Some on social media claimed that the quake was felt in parts of Afghanistan, Pakistan and northern India, including New Delhi.

Reuters witnesses at each location said a strong tremor was felt in the Afghan capital, Kabul, and the quake was also felt in Islamabad, parts of northwest Pakistan and New Delhi.

There were no reports of injuries or damages so far.

In the early hours of Sunday morning, a 3.8-magnitude earthquake jolted Delhi-NCR, according to the National Center of Seismology (NCS).

Earlier on November 12, people felt tremors across the Delhi-NCR river. According to the NCS, the November 12 earthquake had a magnitude of 5.4 on the Richter scale that occurred in Nepal, at 7:57 p.m. “The depth of the earthquake was 10 kilometers underground,” the NCS said.
