Erik ten Hag has confirmed that Jack Butland is ready to join Manchester United as they look for an experienced option between the sticks.
talkSPORT understands the Red Devils have completed the loan signing of a goalkeeper from Crystal Palace, with an official announcement yet to be made.

Butland is the new No. 2 at Old Trafford
Erik ten Hag needed cover for David De Gea after Martin Dubravka exited Old Trafford, and the stopper is now back with Newcastle.
United had already considered the option of bringing back Dean Henderson from his loan to Nottingham Forest, but they have now moved to bring in Butland as backup.
Ten Hag explained the move: “Martin has been called up and in our squad we need a team of three experienced goalkeepers.
“We have some youngsters and they are doing well but we have a lot of games so you need three good goalkeepers in training and you need experience in goal to get what you want.
“What does (Butland) bring? I’m really happy with David, and it’s pretty clear he’s our number one. He’s a really good performer. But something could happen with David, too.”
“You have to prepare for that and not be in such a moment where you only have one (goalkeeper), you can be unlucky.”

The 29-year-old signed for Palace from Stoke City in October 2020 but has made a limited number of appearances for the Eagles.
He made just 17 appearances over two seasons, keeping a total of three clean sheets.
Butland has yet to appear this season, but has been sidelined with a broken finger the majority of the time.
The Old Trafford loan deal runs until the end of the season, when his contract at Selhurst Park expires.

The decision follows Dubravka’s return to Newcastle United after his short loan spell
Butland spoke to talkSPORT in 2017 when he was at Stoke and hinted at his desire to play for a team like United.
He was part of England’s squad for the 2018 World Cup but his career has somewhat stalled since then.
“I aspire to be number one at Stoke, number one in England, but there are other things I want to achieve in my career as well,” he said five years ago.
“I want to play in the Champions League and I want to win trophies. There’s no reason we can’t win trophies at Stoke, we’ll try to win some cups and do the best we can, but I obviously have ambitions.
“If it was the right move at the right time, you never know. You always have to think about these things.
“A club like Manchester United, or whatever… United, for me, is the biggest club in the world and you have to take those things into account.
“But if it is right, and if not, I will make those decisions at that time.”
