Sentencing him to life in prison, Judge Rhys Rowlands said Milburn carried out a “brutal and ruthless attack”.
He said Milburn went to Miss Guilford’s home in Redwyn with “murderous intent”, and was “fuelled by resentment and self-pity”.
Judge Rowlands said he carried out an “explosive violent attack”. “It was a cowardly and brutal attack,” the judge said.
He described Milburn as a “rather compulsive liar” who only shed tears about killing for his own personal gain.
Judge Rowlands, who served him a minimum of 20 years in prison before considering release, said Milburn was “obviously a dangerous person who showed no remorse”.
