Prince Harry’s “Written of the King’s Coronation”

[ad_1]

Traditionally at coronations, royal duchesses are required to kneel before the new monarch and “pay homage” before touching the crown and kissing them on the right cheek.

However, the King, despite choosing not to have a bare coronation, is reported to have abolished this tradition. The Sunday Times reported that only Prince William would perform an act of homage.

Without this conference taking place, there would appear to be no official role for Prince Harry in the service. “As things stand, there is no role for Harry in the service,” a source told the newspaper.

The Duke doubted whether he would attend the coronation, despite its importance to his father, although friends told the paper he was likely to attend. There was no mention of whether Meghan would accompany him.

Despite an ongoing feud with his family, Prince Harry attended the late Queen’s funeral and took part in a vigil for her grandchildren at her coffin at Westminster Hall. His wife accompanied him on duty.
