Police said a couple and their newborn baby who went missing last week are believed to have been seen after traveling inland from the port of Essex.
Constance Martin and Mark Gordon abandoned their car when it broke down on the M61 motorway near Bolton on Thursday evening.
Police are still searching for the family, as evidence indicates that Martine has recently given birth and neither she nor the baby have been evaluated by medical professionals.
Greater Manchester Police have released a CCTV image believed to be of Martin wearing a red shawl or blanket near Harwich Port in Essex, more than 250 miles from where they went missing, taken around 9am on Saturday. The pair were later seen in Colchester, about 20 miles away, at 10am.

A spokesperson for the force said: “With three days now to go, officers are becoming increasingly concerned about the welfare of the newborn baby which is a priority for everyone and are asking Constance and any member of the public who has any information to contact to ensure they are safe and well.”
The couple is originally from London. Gordon was seen wearing dark clothes and Martin, who has a southern accent, was wearing a burgundy trench coat. GMP said the newborn was swaddled.
Greater Manchester Police have urged members of the public across the UK to contact them via 999 quoting 2657 05/01/23 if they have any information on the whereabouts of the family. Information may also be shared anonymously via the charity Crimestoppers.
