Prince Harry has reportedly opened up about his ‘tainted’ romance with Caroline Flack and reflected on the TV presenter’s death, in his leaked diary.
Sections of the book were excerpted by the British press after the memoirs were mistakenly offered for sale on 5 January in Spain. The book was supposed to be officially released next Tuesday (January 10).
These include allegations that Prince William allegedly physically attacked the Duke of Sussex during a confrontation with Harry’s wife Meghan Markle in 2019.

Harry also reportedly addressed the scandal involving his uncle, Prince Andrew, and wrote about the deaths of 25 people while serving in Afghanistan.
In another excerpt, published by US Weekly, the duke revealed that he met former Love Island host Flack, who died by suicide in 2020, at a restaurant during a night out with their mutual friend in 2009.
Harry wrote that he met Flack “months after” his split from ex-girlfriend Chelsy Davy.
Describing Flack as “funny”, “sweet” and “adorable”, the 38-year-old said Flack was “not surprised that I didn’t recognize her”.
“She didn’t have a huge ego,” he continued, before explaining how the media was responsible for their relationship, which ended soon after.
Harry shared: “Very shortly after I dealt with Flack, those pictures stirred up a frenzy. Within hours, a mob had camped out outside Flack’s parents’ house, all her friends’ houses, and her grandparents’ house.”
He continued, “She was described in a newspaper as ‘a bit of a rough’, because she once worked in a factory or something. ‘Jesus, I thought, are we really a country of insufferable snobs? ‘”
They “continued” to see each other, Harry wrote, “because we genuinely enjoyed each other’s company, and because we did not wish to admit defeat at the hands of these.”
However, he said the intrusiveness of the press had “irreparably marred” their fledgling relationship, adding: “We realized it wasn’t worth the grief and harassment. Especially for her family.”
“Goodbye, we said. Goodbye and good luck.”
Harry also described what it was like to receive the “terrible news” of Flack’s death, writing that he was “utterly horrified for her family”.
“I remembered how they all suffered because of her mortal sin of going out with me. She was light and funny that night we met. The definition of carefree,” he said.
Flack also wrote about how calling Harry a “part rough” led to the couple quitting, in her autobiography Storm in a C Cup.
Ahead of the UK release of his book next week, Harry’s interview with ITV presenter Tom Bradby will air at 9pm on Sunday (8 January).
