A huge “multicolored” meteor was seen flying over homes in the UK.

Stunning video footage and photos show the fireball shooting across the sky, and it’s said to have different colors.

The Met Office took to Twitter and asked anyone to send in footage of the meteor.

Reports came in from all over the country. One Twitter user said: ‘Just saw an amazing meteor burning across the sky 20.03 tonight Jan 9th South [Hertfordshire].

It was so low key, clear and beautiful! Golden color.

Another said he had seen the “most amazing” meteor from Southampton, while another asked: “Did anyone else see something crazy meteor over Bath at around 8pm?”

Andras Subster spotted it and said, ‘I just saw the most amazing meteor/fireball of some kind shooting across the sky (Southampton, bearing about 40 degrees, 20:01-ish).

It had multiple recognizable colors—a bluish-white heart, a bright red stripe and a stripe—unlike anything I had ever seen.

Photographer Amanda Cunningham said: “Saw this from Bookham in Surrey tonight, it was huge, didn’t have time to photograph it but it was WOW!”

Lesha Howen said she was going to Tesco when she saw this.

She told Metro.co.uk: ‘My partner and I were just heading to Tesco and I pointed at a big fireball in the sky, at first I thought it was a shooting star!

“Now I know it was a meteor!”

While another stargazer said he saw it in Wales and it was “green”.

MP Tom Tugendhat also reported seeing “above Westminster”.

It was caught on video in London just after 8pm.
