An Xbox event set to be announced in late January, the first details have been revealed

Update: We have more details to share! Windows Central is now reporting that the Xbox event is expected to take place on January 25th at 12pm PT / 5pm EST / 8pm GMT, hosted by both Xbox and Bethesda.

The show is supposedly called “Developer_Direct,” which features deep dives into the likes of Redfall, Forza Motorsport, Minecraft Legends, and more. It’s said to be an “intimate” look at certain games, rather than a massive E3-style show.

As for Starfield, the game may actually be skipping the show for an “even bigger marketing win later.”

We’ll let you know when we get more confirmation on all of this, hopefully in the next few days.

Original story: In mid-December, we shared a rumor that Xbox might be planning an event in early 2023, and that rumor is still gaining traction among Xbox fans, though no one seems 100% sure about the details yet.

At the time, the rumors came from Windows Central’s Jez Corden, who mentioned he’d heard some “temporary and unverifiable” rumors that Xbox might have an event in store in the first quarter of 2023.

Last week, Corden suggested that Xbox fans “shouldn’t wait too long” for some kind of news on this, but he warned that the word “demo” might be too strong, and could be more like a Nintendo Live Show.

Although Corden has never mentioned that this event is expected to take place in January, there is a lot of hope among the Xbox community that we might hear something very soon about an event later this month.

Ultimately, there’s still a lot of speculation involved here, but it looks to us like Xbox could be gearing up for some sort of mini-show – hopefully with some release dates to share with the likes of Starfield, Forza Motorsport, and maybe even GoldenEye 007. That’s just an educated guess on our part… Hopefully. Indeed we are right!
