Boris Johnson asks the Conservatives to fight for a low tax in Britain in defiance of Rishi Sunak

Alongside expectations that inflation “will come in massively”, “China will go through Covid” and “Putin will lose in Ukraine”, Johnson said that “the Conservative Party will recover”.

He continued, “Because when the moment of real electoral decision approaches – and it will be – people will realize that there is only one party that is eager to ease the tax burden.

“Only one party really believes in extending the joys of home ownership. Only one party has the courage to stand up to the Confederation barons.”

On Brexit, Johnson said there is “only one party, the Conservative Party, that believes in union with Northern Ireland and will pass the laws necessary to protect the economic integrity of the United Kingdom.”

He added that “only one side would dare to do what is necessary to disrupt the evil gangs that send people across the Channel in unseaworthy ships – by sending illegal immigrants to Rwanda.”

“And there is only one party that really believes in Brexit – and in its ability to transform the economy of this country

“And only one party will continue to benefit from the freedoms of Brexit from financial services to genetic engineering.”

He said that “when people realize that – I think the political dynamic will change. There’s no desire to vote for Keir Starmer and Sir Crasherone on Snowfest”.
