Manchester United plan to hand newcomer Wott Wighorst a debut against Manchester City in the derby.
And according to the Manchester Evening News, the striker is set to be at the club’s Carrington training base on Thursday, sealing a loan deal for the remainder of the season.
Wighorst’s determination to make the move is said to have helped in negotiations between United, Besiktas and parent club Burnley.
The 30-year-old will complete a medical and finalize the terms of his temporary transfer, all of which are expected to be a formality. United agreed to pay £2.5m to terminate Besiktas’ loan agreement for the player.

Anthony Martial is expected to start in attack against City, with Marcus Rashford, Anthony and Bruno Fernandes supporting and Weghurst hoping to make his first few minutes on the bench.
