She continues, “Sorry baby, I should have kicked you out a while ago. A wolf like me isn’t for beginners. A wolf like me isn’t for men like you.”
“You thought you’d hurt me and I’d come back stronger… Women don’t cry anymore, women’s bill.”
Then – in an apparent search for Pique’s intelligence – she suggested her gym-obsessed ex-partner should spend more time training his brain.
Still living in the family home, next door to Pique’s mother, she adds: “I left my mother-in-law as a neighbour. Press on my door and debts on the tax collector.”
To reinforce the message, Shakira placed a life-size doll of magic on her balcony overlooking her mother-in-law’s house.
An emotional message on Instagram
On Instagram on Sunday, the singer posted an emotional message to her 80 million followers, describing the song — titled Shakira: The Buzzerb Music Sessions, Volume 53 — as cathartic as well as an anthem for other women struggling with breakups.
She wrote: “I never thought what catharsis it would be for me and the release would go straight to number one in the world in Spanish at the age of 45.
“I want to embrace the millions of women who are rising up against those who make us feel insignificant.
“Women who stand up for what they feel and think and raise their hands when they disagree, even though others raise their eyebrows. They inspire me.
“And this achievement is not only for me but for all of you. We have to stand 70 by seven.
“Not as society tells us to, but in the way we want, in the way that helps us move forward for our children, for our parents, for those who need us and put their hope in us.”
