Shakira learned Gerard Pique was cheating on her after he found an empty jam jar in their fridge, according to reports.

The Colombian singer, 45, and Pique, 35, split last year after the Spanish soccer star left her for 23-year-old Clara Xia Marti.

The couple has been engaged in a bitter rift ever since they parted ways after a 12-year romance.

Rumors that the former Barcelona star was having an affair first surfaced in June – and the pair shocked fans with a joint statement announcing their split just days later.

And according to ShowNews Today, Shakira learned that Pique was cheating after discovering a small piece of evidence in her fridge.

She reportedly came home after a period of traveling to find a jar of strawberry jam in their fridge.

It is reported that neither Pique nor the children liked strawberry jam – leaving Shakira to deduce that the Spaniard was having an affair and that someone else was in their house.

Shakira herself alludes to the alleged affair in the music video for her latest single Te Felicito.

The singer can be seen opening the fridge, with fans suggesting she was revealing how she found “the truth in the fridge.”

The new track also takes a swipe at the Clara era with the lyrics: “I deserve two twenty-seconds. I traded my Ferrari for a Twingo, I traded my Rolex for a Casio.”

It comes after Shakira was said to be “devastated” over new footage of a Zoom interview from August 2021, which appears to show Clara at the family home in Spain.

Ten months passed before she and Gerard announced their separation.

The video shows a woman resembling Clara entering the frame while Gerard spoke to the American live video streaming service Twitch, while Shakira was out with the boys.

Shakira and Pique split last year, with Pique announcing his relationship with Clara in August.

After their unusually bitter breakup, no act of revenge was deemed so frivolous.

Pique responded to Shakira’s new path by going to work in an £8,000 Renault Twingo and showing off to his new seven-man that the King’s League had a sponsorship deal with Casio – adding that the cheaper watch would last ‘a lifetime’.

In another twist, Shakira placed a spooky life-size witch doll on her balcony, facing her mother-in-law’s house down the same street.

Neighbors reports that she also played the new song – BZRP Music Sessions #53 – on repeat so Gerrard’s mother, Montserrat Bernabéu, could hear it.

After Shakira’s song was released on January 11, it amassed over 14 million views and reached the top five on Spotify’s global charts.

In response to the song’s uproar, she said: “I never thought what catharsis it would be to me, and the release would go straight to #1 in the world.

“I want to embrace the millions of women who are rising up against those who make us feel insignificant.

“Women who stand up for what they feel and think and raise their hands when they don’t agree – they inspire me.”
