It appears that the spec sheets of all three devices in Samsung’s upcoming flagship smartphone lineup, the Galaxy S23 series, have leaked online. If they’re legit (which they appear to be), it gives a fairly complete picture of what we should expect from Samsung’s new phones before they launch on February 1st; They detail everything from screen and battery specs to their cameras.
Starting with the cameras, it seems that the reports circulating about the Galaxy S23 Ultra coming with a 200MP sensor are correct. Besides, the phone appears to have three additional rear cameras: a 12MP ultrawide camera, a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, and a 10MP telephoto second with 10x optical zoom. Meanwhile, the S23 and S23 Plus are both reported to have three cameras: a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide, and a single 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom.
In terms of displays, the Galaxy S23 Ultra appears to be the largest of the three phones with a 6.8-inch 1440p OLED screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz. The Galaxy S23 and S23 Plus are said to have 6.1- and 6.6-inch OLED displays, both 1080p, and both 120Hz. All three phones are said to have a punch-hole cutout with a 12MP selfie camera, and an IP68 dust and water resistance rating.
Internally, leaks indicate that all three phones will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest flagship processor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, at least in the French and German markets where these spec sheets appear. Samsung will almost certainly use the same processor in the US, based on previous models, but in the past it has used its own Exynos processors in some international markets. This is joined by a choice of 8GB or 12GB of RAM in the Ultra, and 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of onboard storage. The S23 and S23 Plus are said to only come with 8GB of RAM, and between 128GB and 512GB of RAM.
Finally, there are the batteries, which are 3,900 mAh for the S23, 4,700 mAh for the S23 Plus, and 5,000 mAh for the Ultra. The Plus and Ultra will reportedly support fast charging up to 45W, versus 25W on the base S23.
Combined with images that have already surfaced for all three phones, this latest leak means we have a pretty good idea of all the key hardware details around the Samsung Galaxy S23 lineup. But if previous launches are anything to go by, there should be one or two surprises in store on February 1st when Samsung announces the phones along with what’s likely to be a new Galaxy Book laptop.
