Arsenal are in advanced talks to sign Leandro Trossard from Brighton and hope to seal a deal for the striker in the coming hours. Terms of a long-term contact have been agreed with the 28-year-old, who wants to transfer.

Arsenal missed out on Chelsea in pursuit of winger Mykhailo Modric but made rapid progress in discussions over Trossard. The Belgian international, through his agent Jozy Comher, said last Friday that he had decided to leave Brighton after a dispute with Roberto De Zerbi.

The Brighton boss sacked Trossard last week after criticizing the player’s attitude in training, prompting Comhere to dispute De Zerby’s version of events, accusing him of insulting his client and saying, “Transfer is the most appropriate solution.”

Trossard, who plays mostly as a left winger, joined Brighton from Genk for around €15m in 2019. He has scored 25 goals and 13 assists in 116 Premier League appearances for Brighton.

West Ham have agreed to sign Danny Ings from Aston Villa for around £15m, including add-ons. Personal terms were almost settled and a medical appointment was set up with the aim of sealing a deal for the striker.

Ings is in his second season with Villa after joining from Southampton and, if all goes as planned, could feature in West Ham’s pivotal game at home to Everton on Saturday. He has scored six goals in 18 Premier League games this season.

Nottingham Forest are in advanced talks to acquire Chris Wood on loan from Newcastle United, with an option to buy. The forward is open to transfer after starting just four league games this season.
