Kell Brook wants to get back into boxing and is looking forward to fighting the winner of Chris Eubank Jr.’s bout against Liam Smith.
Brook beat his great rival Amir Khan in February last year at Manchester Arena. But he wants to get back into the sport and is targeting the Eubank-Smith victor.
“Kel will be there on Saturday. He’s desperate for a winner in that fight. He wanted to fight Eubank after the Khan fight,” promoter Ben Shalom told Sky Sports.

“He feels he wants the winner of this fight whether that’s Liam Smith or whether that’s Eubank Jr. There is a rematch clause, so if Liam wins, Eubank will have the option with that. But there will be huge fights for who wins.” Follow Shalom.

The stakes are high when Smith fights Eubank, live on Sky Sports Box Office on Saturday. Victory will lead to more big battles.
“They both want to fight again in the summer,” Shalom said. “This is a starting point for huge battles in 2023. But this is the battle they both focused on.
The war of words between Chris Eubanks Jr. and Liam Smith has never been dull, and there was plenty for the two contestants to remember before their middleweight showdown on Jan. 21.
“If Chris lost this, it would be really hard to come back from it and so would Liam.”
It is difficult to predict who will win. It can be said that Eubank Jr did not beat a boxer who was as good and at the same level that Liam Smith is now. Eubank took down James DeGale, but this was the former champion’s final fight.
The thing with Liam is that he seems to be getting better and better [Magomed] Kurbanov has been doing really well in Russia and he’s been more active than Chris, he’s done a lot more tours than Chris in the last couple of years. “He feels comfortable and feels ready for this battle,” Shalom said.
Chris Eubank Jr says he expects to stop Liam Smith in a “fantastic” fight when the pair clash in Manchester on Saturday.
“He knows what it’s like at that level,” the promoter continued. “Liam knows exactly what to expect from Chris Eubanks Jr. He’s been there before. He’s shown his strength and toughness before. He’ll need all of that on Saturday.
“Eupbank Jr. is a huge star. There aren’t many like him in particular outside of the heavyweight division. There was always a question mark, especially since he fought George Groves, could he win a world title? Was he really world class?”
These questions will be answered Saturday night. Smith is a former WBO champion looking to return to the title class. He has a lot of experience in battles all over the world.
“I think that’s why there’s so much interest in this fight. They’re obviously different characters, they’re obviously different people, their style and their personalities. [and] “The fact that Eubank Jr. is fighting at a level he has struggled with in the past,” said Shalom.
Liam Smith is confident he will defeat Chris Eubank Jr when the fighters clash on Saturday in Manchester.
“People want to see how good Eubank Jr. is. This will be the biggest beat on Chris’ record,” he added.
“We saw the size of it, we saw it sell out the Manchester Arena in January. We saw it with interest. People want to see the best for the best.”
