A missing aristocrat who disappeared with her rapist boyfriend is believed to have given birth to their baby in the back seat of their car.

Constance Martin, 35, and her partner Mark Gordon, 48, a convicted sex offender, disappeared two weeks ago after they concealed her pregnancy for five months.

Their car was found abandoned and on fire on the M61 motorway near Bolton on 5 January.

Mrs Martyn was later seen on CCTV holding the baby as the family made their way to Liverpool, Harrich, Colchester and then East London.

Sources close to the investigation, involving three separate police forces, told The Daily Telegraph that emergency service staff who called the car fire had noticed a placenta in the back seat.

It follows revelations that Mr. Gordon raped one of his armed neighbors with a pair of garden shears while being held hostage as a teenager.

Mark Gordon, who was on the run in the UK with Ms. Martin and their newborn baby, carried out the attack in Florida in 1989, at the age of 14, and was later jailed for 20 years.

This haste to move from north to south of England suggests that they have already identified a place to sit and hide. But how did they both manage to stay in hiding? Mark Williams Thomas takes a look at some of the key methods:

1674303050 Chrishill House: What do we know about the Dorset estate that was once home to Constance Martin?

Constance Martin is directly descended from the third and last Baron Allington and once lived in a £34 million country house in Dorset.

The Crichel House estate—which has been used as the backdrop for many dramas, including Emma starring Gwyneth Paltrow—became the center of an infamous political scandal in the aftermath of World War II.

In 2013, Mrs. Martin’s father, Napier Martin, sold the house and part of the land to American billionaire Richard Shelton.

A glimpse of the Crichel House’s grand exterior can be seen in this photo:

Constance Martin gives birth to the missing aristocrat in the back seat of a car left burning on the highway

Investigators believe that an aristocratic mother currently on the run with her newborn baby and her partner delivered her baby in the back of a car they later left burning on a highway.

Police have been searching for Constance Martin and Mark Gordon, a convicted rapist, since the couple abandoned their car on the hard shoulder of the M56, just a few miles from Bolton, more than two weeks ago.

My colleague Andy Gregory says:

Constance Martin’s boyfriend “warned” her not to fall in love with dangerous men

A friend of Constance Martin claimed she warned the missing mother about the kind of men she “falls in love with” but she “doesn’t listen to anyone”.

Noisette Tahoun, who worked for the same film production company as Ms. Martin in Cairo, Egypt, in 2010, said she was “not shocked” when she discovered the 35-year-old had gone missing.

Speaking to The Independent, Mrs. Tahoun said she had asked the heiress to “look after the people she is close to”.

Disappearance of a sex offender with the daughter of an aristocrat “raped by his neighbor while he was armed with garden shears”

A missing sex offender with the daughter of an aristocrat rapes his victim while armed with “garden shears”.

Court documents reportedly revealed that Mark Gordon, when he was just 14 years old, armed himself with garden shears and a kitchen knife, then attacked his neighbor in a four-and-a-half-hour ordeal, taking her hostage and sexually assaulting her.

The papers, seen by the Daily Mail, say the victim’s “two children were asleep in their bedroom” at the time of the attack in April 1989.

Gordon, missing with his partner Constance Martin and their newborn child, was later jailed in Florida on rape and battery charges. After serving a 20-year prison sentence, he was deported to the United Kingdom in 2010.
