Gemma Atkinson and Gorka Marquez announced that they are expecting their second child together.

The couple, who met Strictly Come Dancing in 2017, welcomed a baby girl named Mia in 2019.

Now they’ve revealed that they have another baby on the way, they both share a series of black and white photos: the first is of Gemma cuddling her belly, with Gorka and Mia joining in looking beaming in the others.

“Impossible to hide my stomach anymore. I popped,” Gemma wrote. Our baby boy will join our family later this year.

“We feel incredibly blessed and grateful to be on this journey again. Mia is so elated! Although we may need to do some name negotiation, so far she is adamant that it be called Barbie.”

Last year, the couple had to respond to reports that their wedding was being postponed, stating that they hadn’t even booked a date at the time.

“Gorka is literally on tour all this year,” Gemma said in the interview that sparked the rumors. “We only have four days off together. He’s got two big back-to-back tours, and then he’s going strictly in the fall. We don’t even have a minute to sit down and start making plans!”

Gemma also reprized her role as Lisa Hunter in two episodes of Hollyoaks last year, but she poured cold water on the idea of her returning to Emmerdale as Carly Hope.

Emmerdale has reminded me of my comeback, but with soap the thing people don’t realize is that the cast and crew do pretty grueling hours…maybe when Mia’s a little older and at school I might consider that, but on a minute it’s not practical, especially With Gorkhas doing a lot of trips and stuff.”

Strictly Come Dancing will return later this year on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two will air on weekend nights later this year on BBC Two. Both shows are also broadcast on BBC iPlayer.
