A suspected gunman, who killed 10 people in a Chinese New Year mass shooting in California, was shot dead in his truck as officers closed in.
Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna said the man was found dead in the car he used to flee the scene of the second shooting attempt.
The suspected gunman has been identified as Hou Kan Tran, 72.
Sheriff Luna said there are no other suspects at large.

Earlier on Sunday, police surrounded the truck with tactical vehicles and truck bombs.
An earlier shooting at the Star Ballroom Dance studio in Monterey Park left five women and five men dead and 10 injured, Sheriff Luna said.
Then 20 to 30 minutes later, a man with a gun entered the Lai Lai Ballroom in the nearby Alhambra.
Authorities believe the two events are linked but have not provided any details about a motive.

Mr. Luna said the suspect entered the Al-Hamra club with a gun, and people pulled the gun from him before he fled.
The shooting sparked a wave of fear in Asian American communities in the Los Angeles area and overshadowed Lunar New Year celebrations across the country. Other cities sent additional officers to monitor the festivities.
This massacre is the fifth mass killing in the country this month.
Monterey Park is a city of about 60,000 residents located on the eastern edge of Los Angeles that is made up mostly of Asian immigrants from China or first-generation Asian Americans.

The shooting took place in the heart of the city center where red lanterns decorated the streets for Lunar New Year celebrations. A police car was parked near a large sign that read “Happy Year of the Bunny!”
The celebration in Monterey Park is one of the largest in California and draws tens of thousands of people throughout the day.
Two days of festivities are planned, which in past years have been attended by as many as 100,000 people. But officials canceled Sunday’s events in the wake of the shooting.
The White House said Homeland Security Adviser Elizabeth Sherwood Randall briefed US President Joe Biden on the situation.
