The Oscar nominations will be announced today (Tuesday, January 24), as award season continues.
The ad screening will be hosted by Riz Ahmed and Allison Williams, which will be held at the Samuel Goldwyn Academy Theater in Beverly Hills, California.
Ahead of the Academy Awards in March, the nominations in all 23 categories will be announced in a global live stream starting at 5.30am PT (1.30pm BST).
Film fans can tune in to the live broadcast on Oscar.com and on the Academy’s social media platforms, which include TikTok, Twitter, YouTube and Facebook.
The sequels are looking to put on a strong showing this year, with front runners including Avatar: The Way of Water, Top Gun: Maverick, and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Follow-up films are a rarity at the Academy Awards. Never before have two series earned Best Picture nods in the same year.
The 95th Academy Awards will air on ABC this Sunday (March 12) with Jimmy Kimmel returning as host for the third time.
The concert will be broadcast from the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles.
Banshees of Inisherin, Everything Everywhere All in One, Top Gun: Maverick, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and Tár, Elvis, and the Whale are all expected to feature heavily in the nominations.
This announcement comes a week after BAFTA announced its nominees.

Despite bombing at the box office, Papillon could still be in for a shot at this year’s Academy Awards.
Old Hollywood’s Damien Chazelle took in less than half of its budget. Likewise, The Fabelmans, another Academy Award nominee, represents one of the biggest bombs in Steven Spielberg’s illustrious career.

Will Smith is one of the stars who definitely won’t be attending the awards show in March.
In April last year, it was announced that the actor had received a 10-year ban from the Academy Awards and any academic events.
The Board of Governors decided to impose the ban after Smith slapped presenter Chris Rock at the 2022 Academy Awards last March.

167456580247 great movies that didn’t get a single Oscar nomination
While there’s no doubt that an Oscar is a prestigious honor, a gold statue doesn’t automatically make a movie good.
Just look at all the great movies, including American Psycho, The Big Lebowski, and In the Mood for Love, that were somehow overlooked by the Academy.

1674564602 … Al-Razi
There’s the Oscars, and then Team Razzies.
The Golden Raspberry Awards, a parody awards ceremony honoring the worst cinema of the year, has been running for 41 years.
Earlier this week, The Razzies drew criticism for nominating 12-year-old actor Ryan Kiera Armstrong for Worst Performance.
“With Armstrong nominated as Firestarter, regulators need to be told that swiping isn’t the way to go,” wrote Jacob Stolworthy of The Independent. Or, failing that, maybe it’s time to drop the whole idea on the ground.
