Hong Kong: A pig kills a butcher who tried to slaughter him

The incident occurred in the Sheung Shui slaughterhouse in Hong Kong

A Chinese butcher has been killed by his own pig in what appears to be a tragic case of karma.

Police in Hong Kong confirmed that the 61-year-old shot the animal with a stun gun before it regained consciousness and knocked it down.

Another colleague found him dead with a meat cleaver in his hand and his left foot wounded.

While investigators have yet to determine the cause of death, it appears that the pig caused the butcher to stab himself with the knife.

It is unclear if the pig managed to escape its fate.

Hong Kong’s Department of Labor has launched an investigation and said it will recommend safety improvements.

A Department of Labor spokesperson said: “The Department of Labor is saddened by the death of the person and expresses its deepest sympathy to his family.”

“We will complete the investigation as soon as possible to determine the cause of the accident, ensure the responsibility of the task-holders and recommend improvement measures.”

Pigs are highly intelligent animals due to their ability to social interaction, emotional contagiousness, ability to feel pain, and general cleanliness.

They are rarely violent animals, except when protecting their young.
